Dumas, Ford, and Liberty Earn All-Colonial Honors

MHS seniors Ally Ford and Kylie Liberty earned First Team Colonial Council Softball honors while junior Nico Dumas received First Team Colonial Council Baseball honors for this past spring season.

Ford and Liberty led the way for another Colonial Council championship for Coach Arceneaux’s Lady Raiders. The two often teamed up as battery mates and always commanded the attention of opponents at the plate.

Junior Kim Thompson was a Second Team All- Council honoreeĀ  while fellow junior Kirstyn Alonzo and sophomore Kali DeMarco made Third Team. Senior Brittany Ubrich and sophomore Erin Maloney were listed as Honorable Mention.

While Mechanicville’s season came to an end in the Class C Sectional Finals against Greenwich, Ford, Liberty and Ubrich issued exemplary performances in the Colonial Council-Patroon Conference Senior Game. The Colonial would win the exhibition game in a rout 16-3 as the Mechanicville trio had a combined 7 hits in the contest. Ford went 3-3 against the Patroon – consisting of schools from Rensselaer, Columbia, and Greene Counties – while Liberty went 3-4 with 2 RBI and Ubrich added a single.

Liberty, Ford and Alonzo were named to the Albany Times Union Small School Second Team this season as well. See the complete team here.

Junior CF Nico Dumas had a stand out year for the surprising Red Raider baseball team coached by Tom McBride, earning himself First Team Colonial Council All-Star honors. Dumas batted .432 with six doubles, 22 runs scored, 21 RBI and 17 stolen bases.

Sr. SS and Herkimer County Community College-bound Ryan Losavio and staff ace Nate Popiel made the Second Team. Jr. Noah Harpe and seniors Zach Perras and Adam Dunn were listed as Honorable Mention.
