Let’s Get Physical…Therapy

Andrew Gaetano and Evan Marsh

Mechanicville graduate and one time Mechanicville Mile contributor Andrew Gaetano has gone into business for himself and has opened a new physical therapy office. Capital Area Physical Therapy and Wellness is located just a short drive from Mechanicville in the Parade Ground Village, located in Malta.

After graduating from Mechanicville in 2004, Gaetano went on to attend Ithaca College where he would study and receive his degree in physical therapy. Ithaca is also where Gaetano would meet Evan Marsh. From nearby Bethlehem, Marsh is Gaetano’s long time friend and now partner at Capital Area Wellness and Physical Therapy.

In speaking about the decision to open their own office, both Gaetano and Marsh described the idea of going into business for themselves as “a dream.” Both see it as a terrific opportunity and a chance to give back to a community which has given them so much.

Looking at the credentials of both Gaetano and Marsh leaves no doubt that their future patients will be in the best of hands. Both have doctorates from Ithaca College, while Gaetano is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist as well as a board certified orthopedic specialist, making him the only board certified orthopedic specialist in the Malta area. Both Gaetano and Marsh are constantly keeping themselves up to date on any and all new thoughts, and ideas and forms of treatment in the field of physical therapy. The two will take this knowledge and pass it on to their patients, “We are big into educating people how to care for themselves and prevent future injury,” says Gaetano. Gaetano also helps to pass on his wealth of knowledge at Sage Graduate School in Troy as an adjunct professor.

It’s also worth noting that there is a third member of the team. That being yet another Ithaca graduate, and also Gaetano’s wife, Melissa. Melissa is a licensed massage therapist who will be at the clinic on a part-time basis.
